Furthermore, being baptized into Christ and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit must mean that our lives will be lived consistently with God's will as revealed in Scripture. It does not mean that we can now affirm the gay lifestyle in our "brothers and sisters." The latter need to be told the truth about their sinful, wrong lifestyle with all the Christian compassion and love God inspires in those who truly care for them.
At His second coming, Jesus taught that there is a spiritual meaning in scripture, an eternal message stored away for every believer who accepts Him into their lives as God and Savior. This spiritual message does not contradict the plain teachings of scripture, but it fulfills and redefines them just as the teachings of our Lord Jesus fulfilled and redefined the old covenant teachings at His first coming.
Jesus loves every human being no matter their sins, no matter their past decisions. He reaches down into the darkest parts of the human experience with light and salvation. And if we are going to serve Him by loving others as He does, we need to be able to honestly assess the sins that destroy our relationships with each other and with God. For sin is nothing more and nothing less than a break in a relationship. And repentance is nothing more and nothing less than our piece of God's plan for healing the broken aspects of our lives and restoring to us the relationships that we have harmed or destroyed.
Praise God that He gives us power to rise when we have fallen, to turn when we are headed in the wrong direction, and to find peace in the midst of the storms which are life.
The only unforgiveable sin is a sin that we refuse to see as a sin. Thankfully God has given us His Word and the opportunity for a living and lasting relationship with Him that can instruct us in His ways and show us His will for our lives.
